$ whoami — software engineer
builds streaming, accessible interfaces across the stack.
For ~5 years at Bluesapling I've built and maintained production interfaces in React and TypeScript — from real-time streaming chat over Server-Sent Events (with reconnect and retry) to accessibility work that meets WCAG 2.1 AA. I led the migration from Webpack to Vite and React 16 → 18, and pushed our Lighthouse score from the mid-60s to 85+.
The backend grew from there: FastAPI services orchestrating LLM calls and streaming responses, Ruby on Rails REST APIs, and Django side projects. I care about clean code, measured performance, and the small details — focus states, empty states, edge cases — that make a product feel finished.
SSE-driven chat and live workflows — token streaming, reconnect, and retry handled so the UI never stalls.
Semantic HTML, ARIA, focus management, and keyboard paths built in — not bolted on at the end.
Measure, then cut. Lighthouse from ~65 to 85+ via code splitting, lazy loading, and a Webpack → Vite move.
FastAPI services orchestrating LLM calls, streaming responses, and agentic flows over OpenAI and Gemini.
Same company, growing scope — from fixing bugs to shipping real-time, AI-driven interfaces and the backends behind them.
A mix of client-grade tooling and AI-driven side projects — each one live, most open-source.
